I’ll Miss Him

Oh no, some very sad news has come in.

I heard daddy talking to the lady on the phone. Someone came and told her today that when they went out of their door this morning. On the grass was Chameleon.

He wasn’t just having a little nap, he was forever asleep.

I’ll miss him, we didn’t hang out much but I did used to watch him out the window and he’s lived  here for 10 years, a very long time.

Very sad.

And So It Begins The Countdown To Tomorrow

And so it begins the countdown to tomorrow and next year.

Daddy always watches the fireworks from around the world as they happen. I tend to dip in and out, it can be a long all day experience and it can become a bit tedious for such an active cat as myself.

I don't know what I'm going to be doing tonight. I know nanny and granddad are coming down later so I'll pop in to say hello to them but I think I'd rather be spending it with other cats like me.

I wonder what Sofia is doing tonight, it would be nice to spend the year end celebrations with her, somewhere out the back just us two looking up at the local fireworks.

Of course I'll try and be around for midnight, I want to spend it with my family.

Oh well I can but dream. Happy New Year world x

In Amsterdam There's Cats Everywhere!

I left my daddies pretty much with River last evening when they came home from their adventures. It's not that I wasn't excited to see them, I was, it's just sometimes you've got to know when to step back. I'm a cat and quiet independent, River however well she's dependant on them and needed a lot of their time.

I got my time this morning when they came down and gave me a great big handful of teeth crunchies and sat me down to tell me all about their trip.

I think it's amazing that people can get in metal tubes and then somehow be up in the sky. I don't think I would like it much, I don't like being trapped in when I go to see the doctor so goodness knows how I would feel all the way up there.

However I would very much enjoy all the water that's everywhere in Amsterdam. I love water in all its formats.

Of course they don't go there to sit indoors, they go to explore.

And low and behold ta dah, cats!

And happy people.

And rather strange clothes.

I do find it very pretty at night when all the lights come on, don't think I'd like so many people being around though.

Daddy said the next day it was lovely and hot there, the sun was shining. Um here it was thundering and River was scared, I guess they go the best of the weather.

Makes it easy for people to sit out in the street eating, drinking and laughing. Um Amsterdam seems like a very happy place.

Where you can walk everywhere very easily. I could explore all over, maybe there's another way for me to get there?

I hope they do god cat food.

Apparently it's very cat and dog friendly there, oh yes and there's lot of bikes too.

And people making merry, mucking about on the water. I'm liking this place more and more.

And then something really strange happened. Daddy showed me a photo of a cat and it looked just like me and a bit like Lil' and I started to think maybe I was receiving a message of some kind from the universe.

I played close attention. Yes definitely I was receiving a message, the closer I looked the more I was sure.

Believe or not.

In Amsterdam there's cats everywhere!

And signs telling you you are not alone. Daisy got it.

They really do love their cats in the Netherlands, lovely people.

Cats, cats and more cats, I'm sure I would feel very at home.

Although not too sure how I'd manage with those trams running around everywhere.

Although they do have some very pretty flowers.

Cats even on clothes.

And black panthers on signs. Yep black panthers are cats too.

At night Daddy said all the people come out into the streets to watch the lights go on and mingle around.

And it's a time to reflect and remember people that aren't with you in body although they always will be in spirit. Messages from the universe are their way of letting you know.

And helping you to remember times spent together.

They like cheese in the Netherlands Daddy says, I don't mind it but I prefer Dreamies,

Eating cheese at night can give you weird dreams I've heard and I have enough of those without any help.

Dreams of rainbows.

The next day they met a cat who looked a bit like Sally, They stopped and said hello.

But they were on their way t see the 7 Singing Towers of Amsterdam. All sounds very magical.

I think from the photo's Daddy showed me that they had to climb up really high to see them.

Ah yes, I can see some.

1968, a good year apparently.

So says the Old man. In the messages are to be believe

He then showed me a photo of a pixie siting in a shop window as happy as can be. I did wonder why he was so cheery but couldn't work it out.

But then again it's Amsterdam and even old bikes on the way seem to smile.

But then again from what I'm leaning the whole city smiles at you, and showers you in signs from the universe.

Um!

Return To The Lane Of Bells - Part 5 - The Room Of Fate

I don't know what I was expecting to happen when I jumped in the box but as the bright light subsided I found myself in a room almost exactly the same as the one I had just come from.

The same domed ceiling, doors in the walls all around, no Lane of Bells and no box in the middle, this room was also brilliant white in colour, so bright I could hardly see anything at first. I could see though, although where the light was coming from I had no idea, it was as if it perpetuated it's own light source, everything glowing bright.

I turned all around to see if I could see George, but no he was definitely not in here. I wondered if he had already gone through one of the doors or if he had even ended up in the same place, he did after all say that every experience of The Lane of Bells could be different.

What I was supposed to do here I had no real idea although it wouldn't take a genius to guess I should be going through one of the doors but which one I had not a clue. The events of the past few hours had been extraordinary to say the least and it's hard to make sense of the nonsensical, so I decided to stop even trying.

Right what was it that George had told me to do, use my abilities and use my different set of eyes. I walked towards one of the doors to my left and then looked at the door to the left and then right of it to see if they gave me a clue or if there was anything different about each of them but they all looked exactly the same.

I put my ear up again one to see if I could hear anything coming from behind, but no, nothing. It was very quiet in here, so quiet I could hear the sound of my eyelid blinking, something I had never taken notice of before, why would I?

Hello, I called out.

Nothing.

HELLO.

Nothing, not even an echo.

Well I had come in here to find fate and to find some answers so I guess it must be behind one of these doors and as each looked the same I could spend hours contemplating and trying to differentiate but I didn't think I would get very far.

Right, there's no point in procrastinating, I've been through strange things than this before, I closed my eyes and spun myself around, pointing my paw forward and stopped.

Hang on what was that? Just for a second I thought I saw something with my eyes closed. I opened them to see if anything was there but no, just the room with all the doors and the domed ceiling. I closed them again and nothing.

Um, curious, was my mind playing tricks on me? Let me try that again.

Eyes, closed, spin around, paw out, Yes there, what's that?

I stopped and moved slowly back, a pair of eyes blinked at me from behind one of the doors, my eyes opened and nothing, my eyes closed and a pair of blinking eyes.

I turned slowly to the right, eyes still closed, nothing there. I turned again a little more and a bowl of fruit, appeared from within the door a little like when fog clears with the mornings heat, burning away the screen. What!

I opened my eyes and nothing. OK this was the way to go.

I closed my eyes again and went from door to door, another pair of eyes, a bandage, nothing, a rose, a fox, nothing, the number 11, a chair, nothing, nothing, an owl, a rainbow, an elephant, nothing, nothing, nothing, a loop, a black cat, a banana, nothing, a mirror, nothing, a picture of River. What!

Why would a picture of River be here? I shook my head to clear it, maybe this was all just a trick playing with my mind, but when I closed my eyes again there she was.

OK carry on, a blanket, that was familiarly it was the same one I used to fall asleep on after my nights out with Troy Lamore, nothing, nothing, a little Buddha statue, both the Naughty Twins, The Swinging Heart of Love, nothing, Mogsie, the words HELP ME, I could do with that now I tell you that was a bit disturbing, nothing, nothing, nothing, a little red dragon emblem, George.

GEORGE! I called out.

Is that you there George? No answer, maybe not. OK back to it.

A row of bells, a blast of wind, Nanny and Granddad sitting on a bench, nothing.

I was beginning to feel quiet dizzy all this spinning around and although I could see things I couldn't understand what any of them meant or what door I was supposed to choose. Only a few more to go.

A pair of kittens, another dog like River, the Easter Island Head, a broken crown, the word LOST, nothing, a ? and a shooting star, a bowl of fruit, apple, orange, plum, lemon, nothing, a pair of blinking eyes. OK I was back at the beginning again.

I opened my eyes and looked all around me, everything was the same as before.

OK now time to make a decision, let me think. Oh this was hard some of the images made sense, some I had no idea about and some where plainly disturbing, especially that HELP ME and LOST.

Which one to choose? I certainly wasn't going to go through any that disturbed me, listen to your feelings they are trying to tell you something Daddy always said and I certainly intended to take heed of those words.

Then it struck me, something else Daddy always used to say, if you have a problem go back, go right back to the beginning.

I closed my eyes again, scanning the images in my minds eye I went back and found, what I was pretty sure was, the first door that I'd gone up to. Oh I hope it was the first door, knocking open the latch the door opened and I stepped in.

A Right Telling Off

I've just had to give River a right telling off, for her own good you understand.

I was just having a little look at Aloha2 swimming around when I felt a little sniffle behind me, not in itself that uncommon, however as I moved off out of her way I could still feel whiskers on my behind. I turned around and she was only trying to follow me.

Gasp!

Not only would she have fallen off, it;s so slidey up here, but she would have scratched the side board to pieces and Daddy would not have been happy. It was a Wedding present from Grandad to Nanny on their Wedding day and apart form the time Grandad put a vase of water on the top and stained it, it's survived 50 odd years without incident.

I'm not sure she really took it all in as when I had finished explaining why she must never come up there she just looked at me blankly, blinked and crunched on a treat. Oh well I tried!

So Near And Yet So Far

Oh I can hardly believe it, I've just heard from Twizzle and Mogsie must be going a bit stir crazy.

Hi Lil

Mogsie's in disgrace!   You will never guess what that silly cat has done
now!   He's only gone and taken his bandage off and made his tail bleed!
You and I would never do such a thing.   He was doing so well and the Doctor
thought that he might be able to go back into Catworld next week and now
he's gone and done that.   My Mum was spitting chips when she saw his
bandage laying on the floor this morning and she's put his Buster Collar
back on him so he can't lick his tail and make it any worse.   He isn't very
happy but it's his own fault!   I thought that I'd let you know as you're
really looking forward to seeing him again.   If you watch out tomorrow
morning he'll be off to the Doctor's again and goodness only knows what the
Doctor will say when he sees him.   I don't know:   first we had his great
escape and bid for freedom and now he's in disgrace.   What will he do next?

Big wave to you,
Luv Twizzle

I replied;

Oh my goodness Twizzle this indeed is shocking news, I do hope he's OK.

I know when Daddy broke his arm falling over Penny the little Jack Russell Granddad had when Daddy was a little boy that he got really frustrated with his plaster caste and picked bits of it off so it must be a similar thing for Mogsie but the Doctor knows best and he should really follow his advice.

I bet your mummy and daddy must be tearing their hair out at his behaviour, so close and yet so far, please give him my love and a stern look from me and you have a big hug from me.

Lots of love

Lil'

What ever will we do with that boy?

Reporting Cold Spots - It's All Feeling Very Mystical!

Stuff's going in here right now!

The daddies keep on reporting cold spots and blowing on their bodies and Rivers been going mad this past hour. They had to go out and get her in from going barking crazy in the garden, she even ran straight past me just now in her desperation to get out there at something. She can't get out now though they've had to block up our door with a cushion, they were mortified at the noise she made but not annoyed at her as they said she was just protecting them from something.

I thought she was off her nut when she first went out but Daddy said he heard something out there that could have been a cat or a Fox. He might be right but I'm not so sure,
both me and River keep on seeing something somewhere out of the corner of our eye at the same time, turning in unison.

There's something going on, maybe more than one thing and it's feeling all very mystical!

Serendipitous

I was nice and settled downstairs with the daddies when they decided they had to clean up the mess River's been making all afternoon on the living room carpet and totally disturbed my rest. As it turned out it was a bit serendipitous as from my new position by the back I spotted Spit lurking suspiciously around our bins.

I called out to him and tapped the window and he quickly ran off through AM's garden. Up to nothing then there would have been nothing to worry about and his scarpering didn't say to me worry free about being caught.
