A Bit Of A Chin-Wag

Another day and more sun,I don't know what's going on with the weather at the moment but I'm not complaining it makes my adventures outside even more enjoyable than usual.
I'm not the only one River was loving sunbathing...
...she looked so happy I decided to pop over and have a bit of a chin-wag.
But I wasn't there long I heard a faint voice calling me.

Running towards where the sound was coming form I found Sofia hiding under Daddies car. I was so excited to see her it had been ages. I cautiously approached and nodded a hello, I think the smile on my face may have given more away than I was intending but I couldn't help myself.

I decided to pump up my confidence balloon and sat down next to her, cheekily I winked, she smiled back.

I asked her where she had been, she explained she'd been keeping a low profile, letting the dust properly settle since all the business last year with Flash, but since the sun was out and it had been months she thought she'd drop by to see how I was.

She didn't say it but I think she had missed me. We talked for about an hour before a drift of rain started to come down and we just sat and watched the sun fight it out with the grey clouds. After a while the rain stopped and Sofia turned to me and said she had better get off, it was nearing her dinner time and she had been promised chicken tonight.

We said goodbye, I nearly leaned in for a kiss but didn't want to face a knock back in case I'd misread the situation, we had been here after all before.
Looking t her walking off I felt happy but a little kicking myself for not at least offering a kiss on the cheek but my heart settled and I felt things were going to work out just right, there right in front of me in the direction Sofia was going a rainbow sent from the universe to let me know, whatever everything was going to be OK.

OK I Was A Little Late Putting Our Plan Into Action

I can't believe it River totally let me down.
OK I was a little late putting our plan into action I thought I saw Sofia walking along the back wall and chased out after her. By the time I got to the end of the garden if it was her she was gone so I went on a bit of a wander to see if she was around but no luck.

Anyway then I came in, probably about early afternoon all ready to wind nanny up but when I went up to River to ask her if she was ready she told me she was just too tired, the sun had worn her out.

Marvellous! Oh well I always suppose there's next week

When It's Sunny Boy It's Winter Sunny

It's been a nice kinda day, short but nice.

I started out getting up with Daddy very early this morning, he couldn't sleep. We watched the sun come up together, the sun is low this time of the year and shines right in. The days are getting longer, it's not now dark until nearly 5pm, Winter is here but Spring is on it's way, fog and frost still around but when it's sunny boy it's Winter sunny.
Now one was around it's very cat quiet around here these days. No Sofia, no Mogsie and Twizzle is keeping in. I do miss George he was my best cat friend here and I miss the company of other cats,
River can almost smell when I'm feeling a bit that way, a touch of melocony so she decided to cheer me up and get some of that energy out of me, whether I want to or not,

But I'm not complaining it's just what the happy doctor ordered.

Oh I do love you River!

Everyone then went out and I was left alone in the house and decided to retreat to my favourite spot on the landing upstairs right on top of the hot water pipes. I can hear everything that's going on downstairs but I get to join in in my way, sometimes you just need a bit of time on your own.

And sometimes...

...you just need to cuddle up to your best friend.

My Best Friend

I've had an exhausting day.

I've really been missing cat company, especially since George had to go away, he was my best friend. I have chats with Mogsie but he's always off doing some hero thing or another and I get to wave to Twizzle but she likes being inside.

Sofia, well I went off searching for her as I've not seen her for ages but no luck in that either. It must be the cold weather but no ones around so when it got dark I eventually gave up and decided to come home for dinner.

I must admit to feeling a little sorry for myself and really wasn't in the mood for playing with River, I saw that look in her eye and it wasn't saying peace.
She pleaded and tried to make me smile but I just wasn't in the mood but when she promised she'd be good and just sit next t me and give me those big Disney eyes of her I felt bad and gave in. She doesn't ask for much and I must admit to feeling a bit churlish taking out my mood on her and I must admit although I crave cat copany, she really is my best friend.

And So It Begins The Countdown To Tomorrow

And so it begins the countdown to tomorrow and next year.

Daddy always watches the fireworks from around the world as they happen. I tend to dip in and out, it can be a long all day experience and it can become a bit tedious for such an active cat as myself.

I don't know what I'm going to be doing tonight. I know nanny and granddad are coming down later so I'll pop in to say hello to them but I think I'd rather be spending it with other cats like me.

I wonder what Sofia is doing tonight, it would be nice to spend the year end celebrations with her, somewhere out the back just us two looking up at the local fireworks.

Of course I'll try and be around for midnight, I want to spend it with my family.

Oh well I can but dream. Happy New Year world x

A Way Of Making You Jump Out Of Your Skin

She has a way about her that River. Yes a way of making you jump out of your skin.

I'd had quiet a relaxing start to the day. It was very cold last night and when I woke up the whole of the back garden was covered in a sparkling frost. I quite like frost so decided to go out for a bit of a wander.

It was then that I spotted Sofia jumping off the sunshine shed. Well quick as you like I was off after her calling out her name but by the time I got to where she was she was gone.

I then spent the next twenty minutes having a bit of a search around but I didn't smell her anywhere and decided to return to the garden, not spotting River mucking around at the back. Not spotting her until that is she decided to jump on my back.

I don't know how she does it.

Mrs Calm

I just can't believe it. There I was sat right in the living room

...and unbeknownst to me barely inches away from River's nose Sofia walks by and not a sound, nope not a peep from her.

Today you choose to be Mrs Calm? Really!

A Pretty Normal Saturday Morning Apart From One Thing.

It's a beautiful morning which makes a change after the rather dreary weather that's been plaguing us this past week.

Everyone is pretty much asleep, Daddy is upstairs he's been working very hard recently, and River although she managed to drag herself downstairs is asleep on the chair while my other Daddy is pottering in the kitchen. A pretty normal Saturday morning then except for one thing.

I've just had a catty powers thought. I call it a catty powers one because it came out of no where, the catty instinct is kicking in.

I've been sitting in the sun just daydreaming when it came to me almost as if I was talking to myself. Why have I not noticed before that things are strange around here. I mean things seem to start to happen and then just suddenly stop for no reason.

Sofia and mean for one, I've not seen her for ages she just comes get my heart all a fluttering and then disappears again.

Flash and Foxy and their threats. Not that long ago I was on high alert for an attack and then nothing.

Theo. I've still not managed to tell him what happened when I met up with Purlean, he keeps on disappearing from radar.

Why?

That's what I keep asking myself now I've thought about it, why? These things seem connected in someway, hey even I seem to have almost forgotten that Greego The Pixie is still asleep upstairs and I have no idea why it keeps on slipping from the front of my mind.

Somehow these things seem connected, I just don't know how. I think I may go and try and find Ginger Cat he was going to help recruit a third Witches Familiar to join me and Theo in forming a new Coven of 3 to try and help Greego but even he seems to have dropped of the planet along with Doublay.

DOUBLAY! Oh my I'd forgotten about him as well, he's disappeared to.

Hang on the more I think about it the more I'm sure. I think Catworld is under some sort of spell.

I Want To Find Out

Things seem to be returning a little bit more back to normal now that River is on the road to recovery.

I'm getting more attention from my Daddies, now I just want some more attention from a particular lady, I've got so much to tell her about what's been going on AND I want to find out what's been going on with her too. I do miss her.

I Wanted To Contibute

Things are returning a little more to normal now.

Last night we all went to our proper beds, River and our daddies up in their bed, me in my bed in the other room.

Of course I was the first up and about today, it's such a lovely day I didn't want to waste any of it inside.

I popped some dentabites into my mouth gotta keep those teeth clean, before going outside to search for Sofia. Nothing again, she seems to have gone to ground again still as I said it's a nice day so I fell asleep on the chair in the sun.
Waking when I heard everyone come outside for a bathroom break.
River looked a little more alert and I wanted to show her something, something I was doing to make things nicer for her. I approached her and asked her to follow me up the back of the garden.
Our daddies have been keeping on top of things with their nursing duties but I wanted to contribute so I did what I thought I could.

I've cleared her favourite spot at the back of the garden, when she does most of her sunbathing and listening to the world, of all little weeds and stones and things so it's nice and comfy for her.

She said thank you but she still wasn't feeling up to spending much time outside.

It's thr thought that counts I suppose and of course it is all sorted for her when she is ready and I for one can't wait for that, it means she's back to herself again.

My Distraction

I was teasing River by hiding and then calling out her name but ducking out of sight if she looked in my direction.

I got so into the game that I missed Sofia calling out to me until she was on her way out of the garden.

I was about to run over to her when I heard River winging on the bench about nearly falling through and that took my distraction away from following Sofia.

By the time I realised she was OK Sofia was gone but at least I know she's not avoiding me, I settled down to do some thinking about the situation...

...when I heard River settling on Daddy and decided to be sociable and join them.

I was feeling rather frisky, River looked tired so I decided to play with Daddies arm.

It fascinated River.

We them both just had a sleep until it was time to come in for some dinner. River kept on trying to make me play with some mouse toy she'd been guarding. I wasn't interested.

No I was more interested in getting some much needed sleep all this emotion is exhausting.

Sometimes Watching The Sun Set Can Put Everything Into Perspective

I've been out all day looking for Sofia. I'm confused we had such a lovely date the other week and I thought everything was going smoothly but I've not seen her since. Nothing, zilch, zip.
No luck at all. I was feeling very dejected after so many hours of searching but then I heard Daddy calling to me to come and join him and River.
They were watching the sunset. It wasn't the most colourful or beautiful sunset I've ever seen but there was something very serene about it, I was transfixed and I must admit it did make me feel a little better about things.

I should stop worrying if I'd done anything wrong and just let happen what would happen. Sometimes watching the sun set can put everything into perspective.

We Didn't Make Any Plans To Meet

I'm sitting in the front window, waiting to see if Sofia pops over.

We didn't make any plans to meet again after our lovely day sunbathing and exploring together, I even forgot to get her address otherwise I would go and call for her.

I don't need to worry about if she turns up at the back, River's out there with our daddies tending to the garden so she'll make as noise as soon as/if Sofia turns up. I do hope she does.

Another Idea

I had such a lovely day with Sofia yesterday.

We went over the back fields exploring. I've never been that far away before, it's over the back gardens at the back of us, across the road and through another set of gardens before you are there.

I remember Daddy saying once when he was little he'd go exploring over there, I can see the attraction. Half big fields, lots of trees and as the motorway yesterday was closed because of a fallen bridge it as all shrouded in quietness.

We both lay and sunbathed amongst the wild grass and meadow flowers, the sun beating down on us. We both fell asleep.

When we woke up we went to have a little wander and see what was happening on the motorway, I've been on one before when Daddy brought me home but I'd never seen one from a distance, eerie.

We then took a slow wander home, not really saying much just enjoying each others company.

I hated to say goodnight but it was late by the time we got home and we was both hungry.

I was enjoying reliving our time together however...

...it looks like River has another idea.

Pssting At Me From Within The Foliage

"Psst!"

I quickly scanned the garden. Nothing

"PSST!"

It came again, this time my hearing hadn't quiet settled to resting to I was able to pin point the sound to somewhere in the direction of the Peace Garden.

"PSST, PSST, PSST, PSST, PSST!"

Quick as a dash my eyes spotted Sofia pssting at me from within the foliage.

I quickly ran over to her, smile on my face.

"I've missed you, where you been?" Before I could think caution the words were out my mouth. Sofia smiled back at me.

"Me to." She bent her head slightly to hide an independent smile. I smiled out and in, it was lovely to see her.

"Are you OK, I've been worried about you."

No filter this morning for me.

"Yes I'm fine, I just needed to keep a low profile for a while, till some of the heat died down."

I nodded, "Did you hear about George?"

Sofia nodded a sad look over her face. "Yes Mogsie came and told us. He was a nice fellow."

I nodded, "A really good friend to me."

"To all." Sofia chimed in we both nodded a silence joining the wind bristling in the trees.

Sofia broke the silence, "I'm sorry if you were worried but things were getting to out of control with Flash and all that."

"I know, it's been very quiet recently."

"A temporary truce I think Mogsie said, out of respect for George. Chameleon came and delivered the message to Mogsie and Mogsie came and told us."

"That would explain it." I wasn't sure what to say, I suddenly felt very self conscious.

"Doublay's decided he needs to get completely out of the district, did you know."

I shook my head, my lips not moving but inside frustrated, one of the potential new Coven of 3 now gone for sure. I know Ginger Cat was on the case and their were still Theo and me but we needed as many witches familiars as possible to come and help. I still didn't say anything.

"Come, follow me, let's have some fun, we've not done that for a while." Her smile warmed.

"Come on then, what do you have in mind?"

"Whatever comes along."

With that Sofia was off over the back wall, me quickly behind.

Pass My Way Again

I'm not giving up on Sofia, I've been waiting up on the back wall, the last place I spotted her. If I stay here long enough I'm sure she'll pass my way again. I just hope it's not too long though, I'm getting a cold bottom on this wall.

Make A Wish

I'm feeling rather tired this morning, I was up late with Daddy in the garden last night, we were looking out for shooting stars and I really wanted the chance to make a wish on one.

We were very lucky and saw a couple, one really big one that made Daddy go wow and run indoors. We also saw a couple of smaller ones to, we were very lucky.

I can't tell you what I wished for as it wouldn't then come true but I think you can guess.

Squashed Under A Chair

I've been so sleepy all day today. I think it started when River came bounding into me first thing begging me to play with her.

I wasn't ready to get up and managed to persuade her to have a little sleep with me but every time I began to drop back off to sleep she would snore really loudly and woke me up again. I must admit I was quiet glad when she got up and said she was going downstairs.

I told her I'd join her soon but I needed just a little more time. I think I had about another hour before I ventured downstairs. It was very quiet down there. River was outside watching Puppynap with his garden revamp that he's been working at all week.
I felt a bit bad putting her off earlier so decided to join them both and suggested we have a bit of a cuddle under the chair in the shade, it's another hot day today.

It doesn't take long to get hot when your squashed under a chair with a fluffy ball of River laying on you.
I decided to leave her to pant away laying in the sun.
And went inside to get some more sleep.

I had a lovely dream about Sofia, I've not seen her again since the other day when she dashed across the back fence. In my dream we were sharing some Dreamies and I must admit to it being quiet romantic, I was just about to go in for a kiss when River jumped up and woke me up.
She wanted to cuddle up but I was in a slightly miffed mood at being woken up from such a great dream and said there wasn't room. I know it wasn't very nice as soon as I said it so I suggested she lay close and we could play later.
I then went back to sleep to try and get back to the place in my dream that I was at before.
I didn't manage it!

And to top it all off as soon as I woke back up again River was there watching me waiting to play but I was still in a bit of a miffed mood and said later.
I went to look out the window to see if I could see Sofia, dream eh get in your head and distorted reality, of course she wouldn't just be walking by at the moment I looked out the window so I decided to see if I could see any of these shooting stars Daddy has been going on about, I could do with having a wish come true. But of course it's daylight so no chance of catching sight of one, I'll try again later.
I then went to see if River wanted to play, I was still feeling guilty for shrugging her off earlier but she was busy playing with Daddy.

So I moved myself to the table to watch them. Also it's a great place to see out both the front and the back. Still no sign of Sofia though.

I must have got lost in my thought as somehow River and Daddy had both passed me and gone outside ad were running around playing. I actually felt a bit jealous and then a bit ashamed at myself for how I'd been towards River today. I know we're all entitled to some time on our own occasionally but she only wants to be around me so much because she loves me and you can never have enough of that in your life.

I thought I'd make it up to her though when she came back in and invented a brand new game.

What you do is hide under the sofa and when you hear River about gently call to her in a very quiet whisper. When she heads your way you go very still and very quiet so she doesn't know where you are.

When she does find you, which she did, you then encourage her to get under the sofa with you and then we can both play a trick on the Daddies and pretend neither of us were here. It's not quiet hide and seek more hide and seek from the grownups. She'll love this game and maybe I can make some amends for my dismissive mood today.
