Well I Wasn't Expecting That!

Well I wasn't expecting that!

The house pretty much all to myself to do what I wanted and I didn't know what to do with myself.

I started off enjoying going wherever I wanted without having to watch for little legs to come a'running. I jumped up on the back of the sofa to have a clean and a look around to see if any of the gang where about, they weren't, before having a little sleep.

When I woke up the first thing I did was go looking for River. It took me a good 2 or 3 minutes before I realised she wasn't here for the day.

I joined Daddy in the window, he was working, and had a look out of the blinds. Deep inside I knew I was watching out for daddy's car to come around the corner with River all happy in the window but they didn't. It was only 3 in the afternoon.

I tried out a bit of cat yoga, always a good use of time, but that only took 10 minutes of the time away.

How time goes slow when you are waiting for something to happen.

I Can Hardly Contain My Excitement

River's going in to work with Daddy today and as exciting as that is for her, all dressed up to the nine's, I think I may be the more excited one. I get to spend the whole day with Daddy indoors.

Now I wonder what we are going to do? It's so rare we get such special alone time together that I can hardly contain my excitement and I know I won't be missing much, River is sure to tell me all about her day the second she gets in.

Spring In The Air

I can hardly believe it's Winter, the sun is shining so bright and for the first time in what seems like months we've not got the heating on.

I can really feel a taste of Spring in the air and me for one cannot wait.

Taking Advantage

While River's out in the garden with Daddy I'm taking advantage of the peace and quiet. I wonder how log it will last though.

Clever Girl Was Having None Of It

It's snowing and Daddy has just tried to get River to run around in the back garden with him. Clever girl was having none of it and I won't be either. 

I don't mind snow but it is freezing out and I'm not the biggest fan of the cold so I shall be firmly implanted here. Until it stops as least.

I'm Feeling Much Better Than Yesterday

I'm feeling much better than yesterday. I think I was having a bit of a slow-in-myself day, I think I let the mood of things affect me.

Don't get me wrong I'm not still back to myself yet but I think I will be soon, it's the Winter vibe affecting things.

It snowed a little today, not more than a wild toss over the shoulder sprinkling of salt amount but enough for me to see it. I went out in it for a minute but the bitter chill soon sent me back inside and up onto the pipes on the landing upstairs where I stayed until just now. We have a visitor and I don;t want to appear rude.

 

I Think It May Be Something To Do With My Breed

I've been feeling a bit down today and have just been keeping myself to myself.

I think it's the Winter thing, you know short days long nights and the cold oh how cold it's getting again. I heard Daddy say there might be a little bit of snow again next week, I'm not the biggest fan although I do love the rain, unusual for a cat. I think it might be something to do with my breed, Evie and I are of the same heritage and when she was a little kitten used to love to swim in the bath, it's not something I've tried out yet but I'm sure I will when the opportunity arises.

Oh how I wish Spring was here but Daddy says we've got another 6 weeks to go, I'm sure my mood will pick up then and maybe a few of my friends will start to make an appearance, I did miss George.

I'm Just Waiting Until He Leaves The Room

I've really managed to get a taste for this coconut oil that Daddy has just fed us. River got it rubbed into her skin as well, to help with her scratchy patches Daddy says.

I'm just waiting until he leaves the room, so I can have a second helping courtesy of River's coat, I'm sure she won't mind she loves a good lick!

He's back in the chair again and I want to be. I've tried walking all over Daddy and that usually get's him off but oh no not today. Today he is firmly entrenched.

Tut.

I'll have to think of some other way of getting his arse moving!

I'm Not Really Asleep You Know

I'm not really asleep you know.

Although I know all eyes on me for the second I give any sign I'm stirring, and I'm not going to be doing that for quiet some while. Oh no it's too comfortable laying here on Daddy in the sun for me to give even the slightest twitch away.

A Perfect Afternoon Treat

I love it when Daddy rubs River down with coconut oil, it's a perfect afternoon treat.

A Good Measure of Patience

I've been keeping very close to Daddy today, to see if he says anything else about these big changes that he says are coming.

I always thought I had a great measure of patience, turns out I really don't. Come on spill the beans will you!

Big Changes Are Coming

Something is a-foot, I heard my daddies talking last night and I did catch the words "big changes are coming".

That of course immediately got my attention I just wish that they hadn't had been the last four words of the sentence though.

Usually they go on and on but oh no the best piece of juicy information to come tumbling its way through these ways in many a moon and I wasn't paying attention. I won't make that mistake again in a hurry curiosity may not kill the cat but it sure as heck irritates it.

When It's Sunny Boy It's Winter Sunny

It's been a nice kinda day, short but nice.

I started out getting up with Daddy very early this morning, he couldn't sleep. We watched the sun come up together, the sun is low this time of the year and shines right in. The days are getting longer, it's not now dark until nearly 5pm, Winter is here but Spring is on it's way, fog and frost still around but when it's sunny boy it's Winter sunny.

Now one was around it's very cat quiet around here these days. No Sofia, no Mogsie and Twizzle is keeping in. I do miss George he was my best cat friend here and I miss the company of other cats,

River can almost smell when I'm feeling a bit that way, a touch of melocony so she decided to cheer me up and get some of that energy out of me, whether I want to or not,

But I'm not complaining it's just what the happy doctor ordered.

Oh I do love you River! 

Everyone then went out and I was left alone in the house and decided to retreat to my favourite spot on the landing upstairs right on top of the hot water pipes. I can hear everything that's going on downstairs but I get to join in in my way, sometimes you just need a bit of time on your own.

And sometimes...

...you just need to cuddle up to your best friend.

Well I don't know what all that was about. I was just having a wake up stretch when River came running in, flopped on her back, blinked at me, did an imaginary push in the air with her feet and then ran over to Daddy looking all sad.

A Rather Pleasurable Experience

River had the right idea lazing all over Daddy in the window.

I've been discovering that being picked up by him and cuddled in can be a rather pleasurable experience. I've avoid it for far too long, sometimes giving in and trying new experiences can be surprisingly rewarding. I wonder why I have been resisting it for so long I could have been enjoying this for the past couple of years.

I Can See This Isn't Going To End Well!

Oh dear River's on an food high and she's trying to stop Daddy from doing his work. All that scratching away at his computer I can see this isn't going to end well!

All Sorts Of Strange Noises

Daddy has got a cold and it's a right stinker. I can see him now up the other end of the room coughing and sneezing and making all sorts of strange noises.

He's calling out to me to go and give him a cuddle. Of course it doesn't help that he keeps on going out in the cold to chase River around. 

I'd usually go and comfort him but I don't want to catch it, it doesn't seem like it's fun at all!

Some days I really can't believe how pampered River is.

If she is being hand fed red peppers then I want to be hand fed something. Trouble is I'm not sure what I fancy. but I definitely want to be treated the same.

I'm Not A Fan

Well I tried this snow thing out, it's cold and slushy and to be honest I'm not a fan. 

I prefer it inside in the warm playing with my balls.

It's Snowing!

Oh how exciting. 

I was just finishing off my dinner when I saw Daddy open the backdoor and say to River to come outside.

I wasn't sure what was so exciting and then I spotted it, it's snowing!

I've seen it once before briefly for 5 minutes a long time ago but it's not something I've really had the opportunity to explore before and I'm going to make sure I don't miss this opportunity. I'm of out exploring!

My Best Friend

I've had an exhausting day.

I've really been missing cat company, especially since George had to go away, he was my best friend. I have chats with Mogsie but he's always off doing some hero thing or another and I get to wave to Twizzle but she likes being inside.

Sofia, well I went off searching for her as I've not seen her for ages but no luck in that either. It must be the cold weather but no ones around so when it got dark I eventually gave up and decided to come home for dinner.

I must admit to feeling a little sorry for myself and really wasn't in the mood for playing with River, I saw that look in her eye and it wasn't saying peace.

She pleaded and tried to make me smile but I just wasn't in the mood but when she promised she'd be good and just sit next t me and give me those big Disney eyes of her I felt bad and gave in. She doesn't ask for much and I must admit to feeling a bit churlish taking out my mood on her and I must admit although I crave cat copany, she really is my best friend.

Note To Self...

I was simply getting myself ready for an after dinner, afternoon nap when Daddy put his head on the back o the sofa, just where I was about to lay, looked up at me and told me I had the most beautiful eyes he's ever seen in a man cat.

I must admit as lovely as he was being I'm a bit embarrassed. Note to self must learn to take compliments.

Secretly I Know She Loves It

I was sitting up on the table keeping an eye out for Flash, no more sightings luckily when I heard my daddies talking. They are going out later on tonight to see a show in London, it was a Christmas preset from nanny.

That means we're going to have a babysitter tonight, not that I need one it's more for River, and I know exactly who,nanny.

Now all I need to work out is what mischief I can cause, I do like to tease and secretly I know she loves it, it's a win-win situation and perfect weekend fun.

There I Was Minding My Own Business

There I was minding my own business trying to get comfortable on the table amongst the bric-a-brac forming when I spotted him.

As the end of the garden behind the fence screen Flash was walking along the wall. He saw me and didn't shout any threats like he has in the past but he did give me the filthiest of looks before carrying on his way over the back across the sunshine shed.

I do hope whatever it was that Mogsie did to warn him off hasn't worn off, the last thing I need it him starting his nonsense again.

I know what River wants, I can read her like a book but there is no way that I am going to interrupt my half sleep to clean her up.
