I'll Have To Pop Up Later

I thought I had the evening all to myself, Dady was on his works Christmas do' and my other Daddy and River were planning to go and see Auntie Silver until he got a call earlier saying she was in hospital. I listened in, I really like her and was a bit worried but it turns out everything will be OK.
River was so disappointed that he said he was going to take her out to see the Christmas lights so I was getting the house to myself after-all. I had just got myself comfy one the settee when I heard the door go and River came running in all excited telling me all about the pretty lights everywhere.

I'll have to pop up later, to see them, although I've never been that far away from home on my own before so I'll see how I feel, it is a bit cold out tonight, maybe we should just play a game, I think I'm a bit nervous about going all that way on my own.

And Now We Move Forward

It's been another hot day and we've both been finding it hard to summon up the energy to do much I must admit to wondering that if Spring is like this what on earth must Summer be like?
Daddy then called to River to say they were going out to visit some Auntie lady. I never get to go with them when they go out, Daddy said cats stay at home which seems a bit discriminatory to me but then again it's taken me ages to get out in the back garden so I suppose I should build up to stowing away in the car.

They were gone for ages and  got a bit bored so pulled myself together enough to move to the window to see if George was around. He wasn't but Mogsie was, sunbathing over the other side of the road.

I tapped on the window, nothing, then I taped a second time and he looked over my way, smiled and nodded.

I was so shocked, finally some recognition and nice recognition at that.

I smiled back and nodded and mouthed hello, Mogsie did the same before turning back to the sun and closing his eyes. A smile a nod and a hello all in one day, and now finally we move forward although what prompted this sudden change I have no idea and I'm not complaining either.

Ah Peaceful Times

Everyone deserves to spend their birthday in exactly the way that they want so that's exactly what I did. After all the fuss this morning after Stay came back in I decided I actually wanted to have some quiet time so even though daddy left the office door open for me I elected to go back to bed which is where I stayed.
I woke to hear a bit of a hullabaloo coming from downstairs, I ventured half way down and saw Auntie   Silver had come to see daddy and was playing around with River. Good she's occupied I thought and ran out to have dinner and found another great big pile of Dreamies waiting for me. After I scoffed the lot I pondered whether to go and have a chat with Auntie Silver but thought nah I'm going back upstairs, enjoy the peace while I can.

Daddy came up after she'd gone and he asked me if I wanted to come down and join them but I just fancied a quiet day, I might go down a little later but I will take the on the bed cuddle on offer from daddy. Ah peaceful times, just what you want on your birthday when you are 11.

What A Fathers Day Is

Today is called Fathers Day. It happens every year when it's time for all us little children and big children to think about and show our daddies how much they mean to us and how much we love them.

Disappears daddy spoke to the Daddydaddy on the phone for a long time while Stay daddy was out. I like the Daddydaddy, or more to the point I like trying to bug a stroke out of the Daddydaddy, he's not the biggest cat fan in the world but I'm working on him.

I've never met Stay daddies daddy he went to the other land before I was even born but daddy does tell me about him. He was born a long long time ago in 1930 in a place called Cornwall. The daddies said that one day they are going to take River there but it's a long way away and I don't really like leaving the house so there's no point in even considering taking me their on holiday. His cousin Aunty Silver says he was a bit of a rascal when he was young. I secretly think she liked him, really liked him if you know what I mean.

Stay daddy said he would have gotten on very well with the Daddymummy and Daddydaddy especially as they all liked bikes and racing and things.

When he was much younger than daddy is now he went off to something horrible called war but he didn't have a choice and when he was there he got blown up in his tank and had to get better in a land called Japan.

Stay daddy said that he would love to go to Japan one day and he watches a lot of TV from that land.

When he came back all well again everyone was very happy and then he met Nanny who was Aunty A's best friend who met when they worked in London in an office. I love Aunty A when she comes to visit as she tells us lots of stories about those times. It all sounds very glamorous when they worked in the West End in Carnaby Street as secretaries and things in the 1950's and 60's although I'm not sure what a secretary is.
After they got married they had some children, daddy being the youngest one. He was a twin you know  but she's not around any more. They all lived together in a museum, daddy says he loved it there and had lots of fun running all around the place with his daddy when everyone had gone home for the day in secret tunnels and things. Nannies daddy also worked there in some of the secret rooms in the library, you had to press a special button behind some books to get in there, it all sounds very mysterious.

Stay daddy has gone out to see him and he cut some of the roses in the front garden that they brought with them when they moved here as a present for him, daddy says he loved those roses, probably why he pinched them.

I've decided to get some of the petals from the roses and leave them out for the daddies to say I love you daddies and have to a special day, not sure what River's got planned actually I'm not even sure if she knows what a Fathers Day is.

Auntie S Came To Visit

It's been a busy afternoon today. Stay daddy had just finished work and came downstairs and was doing some cleaning things when Auntie Silver came to visit.

I kept on the stairs as she was meeting River for the first time and I didn't like to interrupt. She lives somewhere near the lakes I know her quiet well as I went and stayed with her once for a couple of weeks when the daddies went on holiday. She made a massive fuss of me but as it was the first time that I'd been away from home before, well apart from when I used to go and visit nanny, that I spent a lot of the time in her bed an amazing contraption with lots of springs and leavers and things that went up and down.

It's always lovely when she comes to visit because daddy laughs a lot.
