A Treasure Hunt

Peace at last. Daddy has taken River out for some sort of a treasure hunt, I'm not sure what they are looking for but they both seemed very excited.

All this talk of treasure got me thinking about Flash and Foxy and the treasures they've been after and trying to bully out of me.

Mogsie said he was going to be taking care of it for me after Flash tried to break in and since then I've not seen hide nor hare of either of them, his absence is beginning to make me concerned I do hope he's OK.

I think I'll try and find Ginger Cat this evening see if he knows anything, I think I know where he lives, it's up the back somewhere. It's better than just sitting worrying. I know Mogsie can look after himself but still...

Maybe He's Done Just That!

I'm still keeping a very watchful eye out but it's been a few days since Flash has been around trying to break in so I'm relaxing my guard just a little.

Don't get me wrong when I say a little I mean I'm not in such an anxious state I am still keeping a very watchful eye out, going into the garden whenever River goes out there and watching out both the front and the back but it seems the immediate peril has subsided a bit.

I do hope that was the last of it, Mogsie said he was going to take care of it and maybe he's done just that!

The Bastard!

Up and down, down and up the stairs I've been all day.

It all started first thing, I was on the table having some breakfast when I spotted Flash in the garden. Brazen he was walking up with a confident swagger straight towards the backdoor.

My back went up as I froze on the spot ready to jump on him if he entered and it really looked like it would.

Boldly headbutting the backdoor flap which thankfully Daddy had locked both ways last night and forgotten to open it first thing.

Thank goodness River was still upstairs, the noise would have got her running to see what happened and even from this side of the door I wouldn't want her anywhere near that bad-un!

"My treasures!" He yelled through the flap. "I told you I wanted MY TREASURES! I'll be back later, you can't think you can get away with this!"

The bastard! Who does he think he is?

Of course I've been on high alert, double thank goodness it's pouring down, no way would River be let out and very unlikely he'll be coming by as it's so wet, I don't mind the rain at all but I'm the exception rather than the rule when it comes to cats.

No sign of Mogsie either, I've been keeping an eye out for him too.

Chaos Had To Follow

It was a fairly peaceful morning. I say was because of course chaos had to follow.
I've been keeping a bit of a low profile since Flash's threats the other day. I have been going out but been keeping very alert.

As everyone had stopped for lunch I decided to keep a look out for Mogsie, I've still not seen him to ask for his help.

There I was when all of a sudden,

"David!"

I looked down and there was Craig on the front lawn, which really surprised me his usual domain is the back gardens.

"I've been wanting to catch you."

"Are you OK." I interrupted him,

"No, no we're not, that awful Flashy cat has been threatening us. He said unless we help him to get something from you he was going to run us all out of town."

"Oh no, that's terrible, I'm so sorry."

"It's not your fault." He darted his eyes left and right. "I can't be caught talking to you, we're all on high alert, of course we're not going to help him what on earth is it he wants?"

I was just about to answer when right behind me jumped River barking her head off. Craig of course ran off.

This is terrible Flash and his crew really need to be stopped. Oh Mogsie where are you?

A Manic Laugh Coming From His Mouth

Oh my goodness, I can hardly catch my breath.

I was just having a little meander through the garden when all of a sudden without any warning Flash jumped out on me. i had no idea he was there he must have crept in sometime earlier and was sitting waiting for someone to walk by.

"My treasures!" He hissed, "I've come for my treasures!" A manic laugh coming from his mouth, his smelly breath pungent in my face almost making my eyes water.

I spun and turned to face him, my breath already gone.

"Go away!" I shouted.

"No chance!" He laughed and took another step towards me. "You've had enough time, I want my treasures NOW!"

I took a swipe at him and hissed, my tail doubling in size before turning and flying through the luckily open cat flap.

River and both my daddies jumped up and ran towards the back door to see what had frightened me just in time to see Flash jumping over the fence. I thought all of that had died down, I guess not.

Oh where's Mogsie when you need him, Flash is surprisingly strong, I know now I need help.

Shaking With Anticipation

Things have returned to normal with River so my mind finds itself back on the current issue, Flash and his threats.

I've been trying to catch Mogsie but I've not seen him about, I need to fill him in on what happened in the garden the other day.

I must say River has been invaluable help in helping me keep an eye out. Anyone comes nears she nearly always barks and let's us know.

She's so intent on the job she's almost shaking with anticipation.

Sun Chill - Flash Do One!

Just enjoying the sun chill and today nothing and no one and I mean no one is going to spoil my good mood.

Flash, do one!

Sixth Sense

Wishful thinking is a good thing but sometimes it can lead us down a path of fantasy, and that's where I think I became a bit relaxed and didn't expect what's just happened.

I was downstairs on the table amid the bric-a-brac eating my dentastix when an eerie feeling came over me. I don't know why but I guess that's the magic of being a cat our sixth sense is heightened above that of the usual person.

Looking out the window, the dew glistening on the grass reflecting diamonds of light into my eyes I was temporarily blinded but there out of the edge of my sight I defiantly saw something moving in the garden just past where the washing was hanging.

The fir on my back stood to attention, ears straining to catch the slightest unexpected sound the soft crunch of slightly frozen grass bending alerted me to an intruder.

I knew it wasn't River mucking around I can hear her upstairs snoring and Daddy was pottering about up there. Moving to get a better position out of the sunlights glare every fibre in my body froze as there creeping under the washing I saw him, Flash making his way slowly up the garden towards the backdoor.

I jumped down and moved as silently as I could towards the door, pausing just out of sight on the inside. A slight knock on the door flap, luckily it was locked and couldn't be moved. Another tap of a nose from the other side before a voice began to whisper through the gap,

"Period of mourning over, I know you are there listening little cat and I meant what I said, I WANT THE BURIED TREASURES!" Each word punctuated with venom.

A slight giggle followed, my heart pounding I moved from one foot to another to edge just a millimetre closer but still remaining out of sight.

"TOMORROW!" A final bang on the door flap and he was off.

I must go find Mogsie, this was to close to home for comfort.

You Are Really Testing My Patience

"I thought I told you I wanted the buried treasures left on the wall for when I came back!" Flash just shouted up the garden at me.

I'm indoors on the table safe away from River having a pasta dinner high and running around wild. This is one time though that I'm grateful for the noise she's making, it's putting Flash off attempting to come inside and steal it for himself.

I just blinked back at him and then just at that moment something came over me. I shrugged my shoulders and then poked my tongue out at Flash.

"YOU," he sounded really angry, "are really testing my patience!"

And off he jumped the other side of sunshine shed. In just that single moment I didn't care, I was safe inside with my family, safe and protected from all harm.

He Leaned In One Eye Closing, Half Wink, Half Squint

"If you want something doing, do it yourself." I heard a voice from just outside the kitchen window, I was in there waiting for my dinner to be served.

"David! David-Shiro!"

I knew that voice, my skin chilled. I jumped up on to the ledge and looked out, standing in front of me bold as brass was Flash. If he'd been here 10 minutes earlier he'd have bumped into Mogsie. I bet he was watching that whole time we were talking waiting until I was on my own.

"Ah David-Shiro, glad you could join me." His mouth chomped up and down on fresh air, slithers of drawl stretching from top to bottom.

"Now you've had more than enough time to bring out the Buried Treasures, and..." he leaned in one eye closing, half wink, half squint, "you know exactly what I'm talking about."

I stared back, not saying anything my senses trampolining but my facade determined not to show I was flustered.

"You have no more time, I've decided enough is enough, I'm a busy man, I have many things to do and can't be wasting any more time on you mucking me about. Leave the little red dragon on the wall at the back of your garden by the time I come back or else."

"Or else what!" I couldn't help myself it was spat at him before I could think.

Flash smiled, "Or else I'll come in and get it myself!" He seemed happy at the thought. Turning his back to me he spat out some air, laughed and ducked into the garden next door.

Vile individual. Oh Mogsie I need you!

All In All A Productive Experiment

I have no idea what everyone else is up to River and both my daddies have been gone out all of the day.

I'm used to them popping out for the odd hour so I spent the first hour just asleep, well dozing in the window waiting for them to come back. I was a little surprised when the second hour came and still no sign.

I wandered up to my dinner plate, a few crunchies had been left for me so I had a bit to eat and then wandered outside, it's such a lovely warm day a shame to waste it inside.

I had a look around to see if anyone was around, they weren't so I decided to search around to see if Foxy or Flash or any of the New Cat Crew had been digging around in the garden overnight, they hadn't.

By this time they've been gone, well at least three hours, and I was getting bored so decided to go searching. searching for Nadia. I overheard my daddies the other day saying it was getting very close to the time that she woke up after her Winter sleep.

I haven't found her yet but I have found a bit of tissue, a button and some twigs ff the tree from the storm the other night, all in all a productive experiment.

Sniffing Around For Clues

Mogsie is out nice and early this morning, I've been watching him sniffing around for clues, for signs of visitations I know because he looked up briefly for a minutes from his search and smiled at me, nodded his head down to indicate what he was looking at and carried on.

It's comforting to know I'm not alone in this with all these threats from Foxy and co, I just hope Doublay is safe in his infiltration of The New Cat Crew plans, I've not heard how he's been going on.

He's Been In Hiding

"Hey. Hey David!"

I turned around and there was George sitting on the sunshine shed looking down at me. I'd been outside avoiding Daddies sneezing, it had begun to get rather annoying.

"Hi." I smiled back at George and took a few steps closer. "How you been?"

"Fine thanks." George blinked a glob squeezed itself from the corner of his eye. "Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you."

I shifted my weight and sat down. "I must admit I had."

George smiled and nodded. "I know let me explain. I needed to track down Doublay."

"I've not seen him for ages." I interrupted.

"I know it took me ages to find him, he's been in hiding."

My ears pricked up and the fur on my back stiffened. "In hiding?"

"Yes," George continued, "He'd heard that Flash was reforming his old gang and he didn't want to be dragged back into it."

"Phew!" I could understand his reticence.

"We had a long chat, he doesn't know what they have planned but he's agreed to help us."

I stood up, "What do you mean he's agreed to help us?"

"He's going to be our mole, he's going on the inside."

"On the inside?" I didn't understand, my face didn't lie to George.

"He's going to pretend to be back in the crew. Then we'll really find out what there plan is, they don't want the buried treasures for no reason!"

I was scared and excited all at the same time, something told me a big adventure was ahead.

A New Leaf

I was just sitting in the window waiting for Daddy to come home from work, George resting across the road smelling the lovely early Spring flowers when all of a sudden out of the corner of my eye I spotted something moving.

I turned to my left and there was Chameleon.

"Oi" He spat, "I've a message for you."

I was a little surprised at his tone but nodded to him to continue.

"Time's running out, you've got till the end of the month to give up the buried treasures or they'll be trouble."

"What do you mean, from Flash?" I was surprised I didn't think they were friends anymore.

Chameleon laughed.

"Yeah from Flash, we're back together, he's made me the new General of The New Cat Crew, we're back in business."

With that he laughed and ran off.

I shouted over the road to George, oblivious to my visitor still sniffing flowers and told him what had just happened.

"Oh dear," he said, "That's such a shame, I thought he'd turned over a new leaf."

George looked very sad indeed.

"Leave it to me David, I'll get back to you."

With that he got up and walked off, head down.

A Very Quiet Few Days

It's been a very quiet few days, yes very quiet.

I've been keeping watch out, mainly from the office window, it's a great view from up there and just a quick run into the bedroom to look out the back but thankfully there's been no sign of Foxy Lectar on either side of the house.

I have spotted George and Mogsie briefly deep in conversation but they've not come over this way. George did spot me earlier on today and nodded a greeting but as he hasn't come over I'm guessing things are OK although I do wonder what they are up to. I thought there was going to be a cat council meeting arranged after the last one was cancelled but no, nothing, no information, not informed.

Still if there was something to worry about I'm sure one of them would have come over to let me know.

I guess I've just got to carry on doing what I'm doing and keep my fingers crossed, although something tells me Foxy is not going to give up searching for the buried treasures, which we know aren't actually buried anymore.

Oh my head!

Two Things He Needed To Speak To Me About

George has just popped by, he said there were two things he needed to speak to me about.

First he wanted to know if we were all OK after the big wind storm last night. It was a wild one, I even heard my daddies talking it about it in bed last night, thankfully everything was OK when we woke up this morning, just a little bit of litter strewn across the back garden.

The second was to inform me that there was to be a cat council meeting sometime in the next couple of days, and I needed to attend. Although Foxy Lectar hasn't been seen during the day there was some digging up marks on our front garden, George and Mogie had seen them when they got up this morning.

I said I'd not seen hide nor hare of him since he'd told me he was coming for the treasures but that didn't mean that he'd disappeared. If anything he was becoming more audacious!

My Heart Was Pumping The Taste Of Adrenaline In My Mouth

"I've something very important to tell you." George's face said he was being serious. "The treasures that Foxy Lectar is after, must not fall into his hands, it's imperative."

George has just come over and by the look on his face he'd been up all night.

"OK, I'm listening." Luckily River was playing out the back with Daddy so I had the house to myself although I didn't know how long I had.

"We've had trouble with this character before, although I thought we'd turned a corner, he worked with us when we had some trouble a while back but it looks like that truce is now over."

George's weepy eye glistened and he wiped a drop forming.

"There's something I should have told you back last Summer when you mentioned it but I thought that I was protecting you by not saying, ignorance can be a good safeguard sometimes but now the time has come to tell you."

My heart was pumping the taste of adrenaline in my mouth.

"The treasures that Foxy Lectar is after you have."

"I have!" I wasn't expecting that.

"Yes," George nodded, "you have. Do you remember back last Summer when you told me about meeting Greego."

I nodded. "Yes, he's still asleep you know I've not been able to get Doublay and Theo to reform the Coven of 3 yet, although I'm still trying."

George smiled and nodded, "You're a good boy David but you must be careful with that stuff it makes me nervous."

I wasn't going to stop trying but I understood where he was coming from.

"You mentioned the Little Red Dragon, that's the treasure that Foxy Lectar is after."

"What!"

"Yes, Lil' found it a while back and kept it safe. None of us knew what it was to begin with but now we know. Mogsie and I have been to see our old friend Ginger Cat and he told us. He saw it happening."

"What did he see happening."

George looked at me, "David you are not the only one who's been to The Time Consciousness, Ginger Cat has also been there."

"But I don't understand I was there and I didn't see anything about a Little Red Dragon."

"No you wouldn't have. Ginger Cat went later into Purlean's story than you ever did, he saw what happened after the events of Parsnip Valley, you'd gone by that time."

"I thought that was the end of Purlean's story."

"Oh no, no it wasn't, something very, very bad happened when they left to go to Manning Tree, something no one saw coming."

"But I don't understand." I was very confused.

"I think you and Ginger Cat need to speak, he can explain better than I can but I can tell you he was with you most of the time, up until you left to go over the sea he said."

"I thought I saw a flash of Ginger and have been trying to meet up with him for ages but events just overtook me and I guess it went to the back of my mind."

George smiled, "Something went wrong with his tour and he jumped in time a lot longer than he should have, The Fly was gone then and to find his way back he had to go to Manning Tree and seek Purlean's help in getting back. I'll get a meeting between you arranged, you two can then talk. But please, please you mustn't let anyone else know that you have the Little Red Dragon, keep it safe, all of our futures depend on it."

I nodded, "Of course I will."

George smiled, "I know you will David, I have complete faith in you."

A Serious Situation

I've just seen Chameleon, it's not often that he comes over this way, not this close anyway.

Daddy was working and River asleep my his feet and I was sitting on the window ledge looking out to see if I could see either George or Mogsie when I spotted him.

I called out the window, luckily very slightly open to say hi to him. He didn't look up say said hello and that he had been tasked with morning patrols through Catworld.

No further word on Foxy Lectar but he said George and Mogsie were concerned, they knew what this buried treasures thing was that he was going on about and they would let me know later but that I must be very alert, it was a serious situation.

Foxy Lectar Is Back!

Well my little game with River didn't last too long. I was really enjoying teasing her when all of a sudden she started to bark her head off and jump off the back of the sofa, Daddy jump up from his chair and go running after her as she headed for the back door.
I jumped out and up onto the table just in time to see Daddy grabbing River as she made an attempt out the back door. I looked up and there on the shed at the back of the garden I saw what was causing all the commotion.

Foxy Lectar is back!

He turned to face me and grinned,

"I can see you've been digging in the gardens," he snarled;

"Treasure's, I've come for the treasures!" He laughed before running off.

He must mean the work Daddy has been doing in the front garden, what could he be looking for that was so important for him to come in broad daylight. I didn't know, I couldn't think, I need to speak to George or Mogsie urgently, he had scared me, my blood was running cold!

Rummaging In The Dirt

Hey hang on a minute...

...what's River up to rummaging in the dirt?

Let me have a look little one.

Oh it's only Nadia, thought it was some buried treasures or something she'd found!

Let's see if I can get in there with her, it would make a great garden hiding place.

Ouch, thorny!

You're welcome to it all by yourself Nadia, not a pleasant experience at all!
