Something Is Going On

Something is going on in Catworld, my catty powers are telling me so.
The rain has eased off a little and I was up in the window watching the birds come out and fly from rooftop to rooftop chatting away not paying much attention to what was going on in the street. Mistake number 1, always remain alert as if from nowhere that cat called Chameleon that I've heard my Daddies chatting about suddenly appeared at Mogsies.

Mogsie was still sitting under the car and I wouldn't have usually thought much of it but I could see they were talking but for some reason they weren't looking at each other, that's when my catty powers kicked in, it wasn't normal behaviour.

After a couple of minutes Chameleon got up and started to walk away.

Mogsie didn't move but he did just watched him pass by and I'm sure I saw Chameleon's lips move as he went.

This was intriguing and I paid close attention to him as he jumped up on the fence and then onto the garage, guess I'm not the only great jumper around here.

And there he sat for a good 15 minutes, looking this was and that before something seemed to catch his eye in the tree at the back and off he went.

It was only at this point that Mogsie got up from his position under the car and followed around the back. Something is going on and I'm determined to find out what, a cats powers never let them down!

An Extraordinary Exception

It's raining, boo. I don't like rain, us cats are known for our dislike of water, I've heard rumours of one of the cats that used to live with Daddy called Evie who loved it she used to swim in his bath but she was an exception, an extraordinary exception.

The thing is the water gets in our coats and makes us all dirty and we have to start the cleaning process all over again which I admit is one of our favourite pass times but we prefer it through choice than necessity.

Mogsie is out in it, taking shelter under the car, keeping out of it's way no doubt. He's a rather handsome fellow even if I say so myself and I would so like to make friends with him but he's still keeping his distance. There's no sighting of George either so I've not been able to ask him if he knows why, I hope he's OK even if he doesn't pop over for a chat I usually catch sight of him at least every few days.

A New Found Respect

Two days, two days I've been following this fly around and I've gained a new found respect for him. I've come close, very close to catching him but he always manages to evade capture just at the last minute.

Now as I said before I've the patience of a cat but that's not the only thing, I've the open mindedness of a cat too and have been studying him, there's a thing or two I can learn form him.

How he manages to hear me coming up on him no matter how quiet I am, how he manages to change direction at the past minute and fly past me smiling and how he manages to keep going no matter how tired he is, these are all skills my catty powers are telling me are going to come in very handy some day.

The Patience Of A Cat

 Buzz, buzz.

This fly just isn't giving up but no matter I've got the patience of a cat...

...and the speed!

Bet You Weren't Expecting That?

Oh goodbye peace, River's woken up and I'm really not in the mood for rough and tumble.

I said i wasn't in the mood River, calm yourself.

Oh go on then.

Let me shake you by the ear.

He, he. Bet you weren't expecting that?

How To Fly

I've been looking out for George all day to see whether he can shed any light on why Mogsie seems a bit off with me but no sign of him.

Never mind this fly has been bugging me for ages and I'm determined to catch him.

Ahhh!

I must somehow learn how to fly, it's going to come in very handy!

A Mystery To Solve

The day's just got better and better. I spent most of the morning getting used to how the backdoor flap works and I think I have it sussed.

Knock with your nose and jump all at the same time is the best way in and out. I'm getting at jumping so that was no problem, I think it's one of my best skills, although now I'm mastering this multi-tasking lark.

I was pretty pleased and exhausted with myself so I decided to spend the afternoon getting a little more familiar with how the outside world looks. River was asleep on the sofa so I had the window all to myself and I saw Mogsie strutting around getting the sun on his back.

Once he'd got himself settled I knocked on the window to get his attention.

Once, nothing, twice, nothing and on the third time, and I really knocked so loud that River looked up he turned to face me but he did nothing just stared in my direction.

My catty powers are kicking in and I sense there's some sort of a problem between the two of us but I've no idea why, it's certainly a mystery to solve, I think I'll ask George if he knows why next time he pops over.

The Outside World

I did it, I did it, I went outside and inside all on my own.
It's another lovely day today, the sun is shining and I got up in a really good mood, despite the fact that Daddy put me out of the bedroom at 4 this morning for trying to claw his feet, well I want to play and they are so much fun to play with.

Coming downstairs I noticed the backdoor was open, a gentle breeze flowing in inviting me outside. River was out there frolicking in the sun, jumping up and down engrossed in something that she was finding very enjoyable and I decided to have another go at the outside world.

Looking around to make sure no one was watching me I stepped out and instantly felt elation at my bravery and the rewards at having freedom to explore.

I wasn't going to go too far, small steps and all that but decided to have a sniff around the bench at the back and see what Daddy had been throwing out, he's big into DIY at the moment and the kitchen is undergoing a bit of a transformation.

So many smells, I'm pretty sure I could smell other cats had been here although I'm still getting used to the additional scents out here so I couldn't be sure.
All of a sudden behind me a bang. I turned to see the door had closed. I felt a little panicky, how on earth was I get to get back inside? There was nothing for it, I had to go through the door flap. I knocked it a few times and it swung, making a creaky sound as it swung, I think a bit of an oiling is in order, the sound hurt my ears, not pleasant at all.

I wasn't quite sure how I was going to manage to leap and push all at the same time but then I heard the familiar sniff, sniff of River when she is excited and turned to see her running up the garden towards me. I needed no more motivation and through I went and ran upstairs, this outside world stuff is so exciting, but I think I've had enough for the moment, I'll give going through from the house side a go later, I really must practise more I've so much to do and staying inside just won't get it done!

Addicted

I've really gotten into this EastEnders show the Daddies watch, so many twists and turns you never know what's coming next even though they are always theorising. I wish these two would just sort it out and get it on though they are perfectly suited, I can't wait to see what happens next. Oh dear me, I think I've become addicted.

Spring's On It's Way

It's been a beautiful day again, Daddy said Springs on it's way, I think I'm going to like this Spring thing. River certainly does, she made herself very comfy on the chair in the window...

...so I thought I'd join her.

Guess it wasn't in her plans though! Huff.

I Did It!

What an afternoon I've had, it fair wore me out, what with everything that went on and the beautiful hot sun I just couldn't help falling asleep.
I was just having a lovely dream about rainbows when I heard my name being called out. I thought for a moment I must have been imagining it but then I heard it a second and a third time. It wasn't either of the Daddies, I know their voices and I knew it wasn't River, then all of a sudden it hit me, George!
I jumped up and looked out of the window and there he was all cuddled up on the front step, sunbathing.

I was so pleased to see him and I couldn't wait to tell him all about my adventure outside.

I heard everyone outside running around and panting, and that wasn't just River it was the Daddies too, they had really got into this sorting out the garden thing, bags and weeds and buckets of water everywhere.

I sat and watched them for a while, it was the perfect time for me to go outside, they were all so busy the limelight wouldn't be on me, I didn't need the additional pressure I was nervous enough as it was, so I sat there head just about poking above the door frame.

Even though it was a warm day there was still a breeze and I could feel it ruffling all my fur. I'd felt the breeze before but only for a second or two, this was a new experience letting it envelop me and cool me down.

River was enjoying herself running around with no cares or worries in the world and it made me admire her even more than I did before, she seemed so at ease outside. Maybe I would be like that too one day but not this day.

I thought for a moment she was going to come running over barking and making me all embarrassed but she just continued to direct the Daddies in what they were doing so I took a deep breath, gathered my courage in my paws and tentatively stepped out.

So many new smells, grass freshly cut, flowers coming out to bloom, I'm sure I could smell that a bird had been here recently, us cats are born with the ability of extraordinary smell, we should be perfumers really.
I sat there for a couple of minutes trying to decide if I should venture out onto the grass before deciding that was enough for today, I didn't want to overwhelm myself, after all I do have years and years ahead of me.

River must have seen I was a bit cautious and came running over to give me a cuddle, I think secretly she was feeling very proud of me, I know I was!

A Force Of Habit

Wow, everyone is up and about very early for a Saturday.
I was thinking a lie in would be a good idea but Daddy had a different idea, almost as soon as he was awake, the covers were thrown back, in the most ungraceful style, and up he jumped ensuing we were all up.

All the windows were opened up and the windy came blowing in, something he said to do with good Feng Shui, he's getting a little obsessed but it seems to be keeping him happy and it does seem to serve me well, I can get used to the fresh smells of the outside world before I venture out.

I tried again yesterday afternoon but found he'd locked the back door flap, I think it must be a force of habit, yeah well one I wish he'd hurry up and break.

Anyway I know today it's not going to be a problem I overheard both the Daddies talking and it seems a day in the garden is in order and that means for all of us!

I'll just wait until they are all engrossed in what they are doing before I go out, I don't want all the attention to be on me, I'm so excited my first real taste of freedom.

I Think I'll Attempt To Go Outside Again

It's turned into a beautiful afternoon, Daddy is out in the garden cutting the grass and River is getting herself all sleepy in the chair in the window and I've been catching some rays in the window.

All of a sudden I noticed that cat Mogsie across the road, also enjoying the sun on top of his car.

I tried to get his attention by knocking on the window but he didn't hear me. I've not had a proper chat with him since I've moved here, he looks very wise and I bet he'll be able to give me some advice on finding a wood.
I think I'll attempt to go outside again, fingers crossed River doesn't spot me and think it's playtime, I could really do with some sound advice, I', so confused as to where to start!

But I Feel I'm Being Blocked At Every Turn

Oh dear what is going on. Daddy was upstairs and I thought River was with him so it seemed like the perfect opportunity for me to go venturing outside. I've decided that I think it's best if I build up my courage little by little before I go wood exploring.
I'd stuck my head through the door flap when all of a sudden right behind me I felt this rush of hot breath and before I knew it River had me on my back and was wrestling with me.

She turned me over and started to lick me and as much fun as it is playing rough and tumble I really had built myself to go out on my own but I feel I'm being blacked at every turn, almost like the universe is preventing me for some reason.
Oh well, if you can't beat them, join them, outside isn't going anywhere!

I Have The World To Explore

So the back door door is unlocked and River's been going in and out of it all day. Fabulous the freedom it brings, but as much as I know I can now go outside something seems to be stopping me.

I've ventured out a few times before but always under the watchful eye of Daddy, it's a big world out there and it makes me kinda nervous especially as I now have a task to complete as well, it's all a bit much to take in.

Not only do I have the world to explore I also have a wood to locate and something lost to find but I have no clue as to where to begin, no clues as to which wood and not a scooby as to what's lost.

I've thought about going back to ask Greego for some more information but I guess he would have told me if there was anything more to tell, it appears it's all down to me now and as much as I'm excited by it all, it's also a little overwhelming.

I think I'll stay indoors today, build up some strength first. Yes that's what I'll do and tomorrow, tomorrow I'll venture out.

Look At That!

Fabulous, at last Daddy has finally come down from upstairs, he's been there all day, with the door closed. The cheek of it.

Right now I can see by the look in River's eyes that she's going to go and monopolise him so I need a plan. I know;

"Look River, look at that!"

He he, now I'm going to be the first one over to Daddy to give him some kisses, and maybe get a Dreamies or ten!

My Adventure

Well that wasn't so bad.

So in the box I am and into the car I go. I was a little nervous at first but I soon settled down, River said the car is great fun and although I wouldn't exactly call it that it certainly wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been.

We weren't in there long before we parked again and then Daddy lifted the box and me out and took me into another building.

The place was full of little dogs jumping around playing, this place was looking better all the time. I couldn't join in as I do with River as I was still in the box but Daddy put me up high so I could get a great view.

I was just watching a dog attempting back flips when a lady came out and called my name. Up went my ears and up went the box and into another little room we went.

The lady was very nice and lifted the lid off the box and gave me a great big stroke and then she looked at my teeth and my eyes, all sparkly and perfect she said, and then she got a big disc thing out and listened all over me.

It was a bit cold but I didn't mind, this was fascinating and then all of a sudden daddy said I'd had my injections and was doing fabulous. I didn't even feel a thing.

When we got home River was so pleased to see me and I couldn't wait to get out and tell her all about my adventure. Then all of a sudden daddy said he had a present for me from the lady for being such a brave boy.

Wow, dreamy, what do you think it is River?

He Said It's A Little Late

I was having a lovely early morning run around with River when all of a sudden Daddy picked me up and said come on you're coming with me, we're getting you your injections.

Injections!

Don't like the sound of that and I started to run away but then he said it was OK and I should go and have a look at the box he put out, it had my cardigan in it and everything would be OK.

He said not to worry, he said it's a little late but all cats and dogs get injections just to make sure they'll be well and fit and healthy.

OK well that sounded like a good plan. He also then said the best bit, he said he was getting them now because he thought I was big enough to be able to go outside whenever I wanted. It was finally about to happen, the back door entrance was going to be unlocked!

Come on then, what are we waiting for?

Feng Shui

Oh dear I thought it was too good to last, enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon I mean.

Daddy has a bee in his bonnet all because he place a red vase under a light and the light bulb blew he's gone mad re-arranging things and getting colour schemes in sync.

Feng Shui he calls it, to get a better energy flow, he says.

I don't mind, the plants back near the window and I did so love playing with it's leaves, great exercise!

Come On Go Again!

Come on River, I'm in the mood for a bit of a tug.

That's it come on pull harder.

Wasn't expecting that move eh?

Come on go again, go again!

St David's Day

Wow Daddy said today I could do anything I wanted. Daddy said today was St David's Day and as I'm David it will always be a special day for me too, a day I can do anything I want.

No idea who this St David is but I thank you. To begin with I'm bagging this chair.
