The Outside World

I did it, I did it, I went outside and inside all on my own.
It's another lovely day today, the sun is shining and I got up in a really good mood, despite the fact that Daddy put me out of the bedroom at 4 this morning for trying to claw his feet, well I want to play and they are so much fun to play with.

Coming downstairs I noticed the backdoor was open, a gentle breeze flowing in inviting me outside. River was out there frolicking in the sun, jumping up and down engrossed in something that she was finding very enjoyable and I decided to have another go at the outside world.

Looking around to make sure no one was watching me I stepped out and instantly felt elation at my bravery and the rewards at having freedom to explore.

I wasn't going to go too far, small steps and all that but decided to have a sniff around the bench at the back and see what Daddy had been throwing out, he's big into DIY at the moment and the kitchen is undergoing a bit of a transformation.

So many smells, I'm pretty sure I could smell other cats had been here although I'm still getting used to the additional scents out here so I couldn't be sure.
All of a sudden behind me a bang. I turned to see the door had closed. I felt a little panicky, how on earth was I get to get back inside? There was nothing for it, I had to go through the door flap. I knocked it a few times and it swung, making a creaky sound as it swung, I think a bit of an oiling is in order, the sound hurt my ears, not pleasant at all.

I wasn't quite sure how I was going to manage to leap and push all at the same time but then I heard the familiar sniff, sniff of River when she is excited and turned to see her running up the garden towards me. I needed no more motivation and through I went and ran upstairs, this outside world stuff is so exciting, but I think I've had enough for the moment, I'll give going through from the house side a go later, I really must practise more I've so much to do and staying inside just won't get it done!
